Can you use a dvd-rom player to make a burning laser?
I seen alot of things online about how to make burning lasers. Most say that you need a DVD burner. I’ve also seen that CD burners work, but are invisible. I only have a dvd player. It is labeled as a DVD-ROM & CD-R/RW. So I guess that the CD burner part would work, just invisibly. But would the DVD part work for a visible beam?
you can, and from what i understand dvd lasers are usually purple. you need some soldering and wiring experience, but theres all kinds of youtube videos on this.
@Scott, hes not trying to burn a dvd with a cd burner, he wants to take a laser diode out and use it like a laser pointer
